LAUNCH OF A NEW RANGE

To meet a growing demand from its customers, Nordways has launched a collection of safety shoes for industry and construction. High-end items, in stock, in carefully chosen materials to offer beauty, technique and ultra comfort. Today we are constantly looking for the shoe of tomorrow.

1990

FIRST CAPSULE COLLECTION

Called "Les Blancs", the first mini collection of working clogs was very successful and Nordways specialized in professional footwear. Since that date, Nordways has continued to develop and expand its range. With the supreme objective of customer satisfaction by offering a complete range of high quality items from stock with the most Nordways: A helpful customer service that is always attentive.

1977

BIRTH OF THE BRAND

His attachment to the Scandinavian countries and more particularly to Norway (which is called Norway in English) and his passion for shoes and clothing generated the name of the brand Nordways, the trends coming from the North.
A victim of its success, the storage warehouses were broken into and 10 years of work were wiped out in a few minutes.
All the clothes had been stolen, only the clogs remained. The sign that we had to return to the shoe.

1967

THE NEW GENERATION LANDS

Frédéric Chareyre, current CEO of Nordways, takes over the head of the small family business. Its role is to sell the manufacture's shoes in small town stores. Fashionable and comfortable everyday shoes. But at the time, the suit and tie was not Frédéric's cup of tea, so he made the choice to go and distribute winter items such as snow shoes and clothing in ski resorts where the atmosphere was more relaxed. It was in this context that he discovered Nordic manufacturers with whom he created partnerships and embarked on the shoe.

1921

TRANSMISSION AND TRADITION

From year to year, from hand to hand, the tradition has been passed on and it is Mr. Samuel Chareyre, grandfather of the current director who was at the head of the small family business. A shoe factory with around twenty employees in Valence in the Drôme (26).
To put the leather in shape, we used an iron that we heated on embers, during the lunch break, an employee left his iron on the straw of a chair.
The factory went up in smoke and the Chareyre Manufacture was forced to shut down ...
Thanks to the help of the corporation, Samuel Chareyre, motivated as never before, put the family factory back on the water.

1880

THE OLDEST DOCUMENTS DATE TO 1880

At that time it was called: "Manufacture Chareyre, luxury and work shoe". A family of shoemakers, the doorstep opened onto the street and the shoemaker was tapping the sole in front of passers-by. Until the 1st world war, the wearing of the shoe was an event, a social promotion. The 1st pair of shoes was kept for a lifetime, the shoemaker would resole it and shovel it to make it last longer.
Then from repair, the Chareyre family embarked on manufacturing by becoming a shoemaker.
