From our status as a manufacturer and designer of shoes for professionals, we know the importance of mixing comfort and safety in your profession. To choose your kitchen safety shoes, we offer you some tips and advice to help you find the right kitchen shoe for you.
What standards do you kitchen shoes should they answer?
The anti-shock shell : It is not necessarily compulsory but strongly recommended. The protective steel or composite shell at the end of the shoe protects the forefoot from falling heavy objects such as a pot or a knife. We will therefore choose a standard EN 20345 shoe. The non-slip sole : If you work in the kitchens of a large restaurant or in the kitchens of a school canteen, you have probably experienced once in your life a good slip with optional forced landing? In this type of job, you quickly find yourself walking on damp or even wet and slippery floors. Hence the importance of being equipped with a non-slip sole; Fortunately for you this is a feature that has its own standard: The SRC standard. A kitchen safety shoe that is SRC-standardized has undergone gliding tests in the laboratory. If it has reached the required mark, it is then SRC standardized and guarantees you to be non-slip. Then you have to consider your soil; in the case of non-slip tiles, Nord'Ways recommends mono-density PU contact soles which will “sink in” better and thus adhere, like our flagship model. BRICE. If it is rather waxed concrete or other flat surface, you can opt for a dual-density PU outsole which offers the advantage of comfort, plus resistance to abrasion, such as the DAN.
Comfort : We often forget this when buying a kitchen safety shoe which by definition is rigid and will hurt your feet. But not at Nord'Ways because for us it is our first source of motivation: To provide you with maximum comfort thanks to our shoes! Shock absorber in the heel, padded lining at the level of the malleolus, closure system with elastic and Velcro to adapt to your kick ...
